The Arab Parliament welcomed the appointment of the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh Issa, as President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council. This was announced in the statement issued following the conclusion of the Third Plenary Session of the Second Ordinary Session of the Fourth Legislative Term, held in Cairo on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The Arab Parliament affirmed that this well-deserved achievement reflects Counselor Aguila Saleh’s distinguished parliamentary experience, his pioneering leadership, and his outstanding record of service at the national, Arab, and international levels.
It is worth noting that Counselor Aguila Saleh was elected President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council during the Second General Conference of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, hosted by the Libyan House of Representatives in Benghazi on 15 and 16 June 2026.
