H.E. Counselor Aguila Saleh Issa, President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council for its second term and Speaker of the House of Representatives, and H.E. First Vice President Saud Rashid Al-Hujailan, received congratulatory messages from the heads and representatives of several national and regional parliaments on the success of the Second International Conference of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, held in Benghazi, Libya, on 15 and 16 June 2026.
The messages were received from the National Assembly of the Republic of the Congo, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi, the Palestinian National Council, the National Assembly of the Republic of The Gambia, the Transitional National Legislative Assembly of the Republic of South Sudan, the Federal Parliament of Nepal, and the Parliament of Madagascar.
The congratulating parliaments conveyed their sincere wishes to H.E. Counselor Aguila Saleh Issa and H.E. Mr. Saud Rashid Al-Hujailan for success in leading the Council’s work and strengthening parliamentary cooperation among Asian and African countries.
The Arab Parliament also welcomed the appointment of H.E. Counselor Aguila Saleh Issa as President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council in its final statement following the Third General Session of the Fourth Legislative Term, stressing the importance of supporting joint parliamentary cooperation between the two continents.
