The President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council and Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, held a meeting today, Wednesday, in the presence of the Head of the Office of the Libyan House of Representatives and Deputy Secretary-General of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, Mr. Abdullah Al-Misri Al-Fadheel, with the Secretary-General of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, Mr. Fayez Al-Shawabkeh.
The meeting was also attended by Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Mr. Ahmed Hashash.
The meeting, held in the city of Al-Qubbah, discussed the outcomes of the meeting of the Secretariat-General of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, which was held over the past few days, as well as a number of matters related to the Council’s work, including draft regulations and resolutions.
The meeting also agreed to invite the Speakers and Presidents of Asian and African councils and parliaments to nominate their representatives to the Executive Council, in preparation for convening the first meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council.
The meeting also addressed the issue of the permanent headquarters of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council in the city of Benghazi, with discussions focusing on the procedures and steps related to this matter.
